extra Ordinary

Our ward still being new we were asked by our Relief Society Pres. to introduce our selves and explain why we were extra ordinary. While I don't think I am extra ordinary I do think I am a person of many interest. I love music and had only 4 piano lessons when my teacher died. I then taught myself the rest enough to play hymns and sing.( this will probably discourage our chior director from having me play the piano for chior) I love to sing, I am learning the penny whistle . I love to paint landscapes and think that trees are so amazing because like snowflakes not two are alike. I love to read, do crafts, scrap booking, write plays. I enjoy family gatherings( I love my grandchildren ) and friend gatherings. Our RS Pres. said that she has and enjoys a variety of friends. I too enjoy a variety of Friends from babies to the older generation. I feel this is what enriches your life. Heavenly Father knew that we needed each other to learn love, service, friendship. Thank you all for enriching my life.

Christmas TIme

Well its that time of Year, I Love Christmas... All the Christmas songs, The goodwill toward one another.
The religious implications. the whole feeling.
We our church chior had been practicing since September Christmas songs and I have loved everyminute. We put on this big production more than just singing christmas carols. We practiced and played over and over hard parts and preformed last night.

I well the dress rehearsal went better than the preformance. At the preformance people got mixed up with the mikes and we lost the sound during the middle of the preformance ( things that if they were going to happen should have happened during the dress rehearsal ) .. However, I loved being back on the stage and singing no matter what....
I love Christmas.

Halloween

Halloween was so fun this year. We had our oldest Grandson over for two days. Thursday night we went to Special needs Halloween dance and had a great time and saw many special needs friends who asked us if we were coming back to teach it was so hard to say no we were just visiting. Then Friday night made soup and went to the Ward Harvest dinner and dressed up in our halloween costumes. Daniel said this is the bestest party I have been too..

Sunday it was our Littlest Grandsons 1st birthday. Happy Birthday Scottie.

What a great time ...

End of Summer

Many things contribute to the end of summer.
School starting for kids..
The spring growing of the garden ends and the ripe of tomatoes , cucumbers, peppers and squash are at their peek.
Vacation is over.
Cooler nights.
In two weeks the State Fair starts.
I like this time of year almost fall.
I wish we could have a long indian summer...
Not looking forward to WINTER...

Time slipping away

It seems that Summer is upon us or is it.
For the temp in July should be inching toward the 100 mark but so far it has been rainy and cool which Iam not complaining. But miserable for campers.

Tomorrow is July 4th. I so feel a love for my country. I am grateful for all those who fought for an Independant Country and for Freedom.
I do realize that Freedom is not Free and I am grateful for those soliders who daily put their lives on the line for us.
My favorite patriotic song is America the Beautiful.
Oh Beautiful for spacious skies...
Oh Beautiful for Pilgram feet..
Oh Beautiful for Patriot dream ...

May God Bless America and the Land of the Free.

random thoughts

I thought never in my life time would I see the country in the shape as it is in now.
I remember Mother and Dad telling us how hard it was during their early teenage years during the depression.
Mom stated that as her Father was gone alot trying to obtain jobs to feed the family.
She remembers eating creamed carrots for dinner for a week. Grandma would say be thankful for those carrots. How they prayed that things would get better. One day Moms Uncle came over with a big basket of friut ,potatoes and more veggies and a Rabbit. This Rabbit became the pet of the family.

I everyday in the news I read of people loosing their jobs and homes are foreclosed. I feel the sorrow for these people, I know what its like to loose your home.
Times are harder and people are not as kind as they were back when.
This is sad because the only way we can over come this hardship is if we are kinder and help each other out.

I am afraid things will get worse before they get better.

Mother Tresea once said
The reason we do not have peace is because we have forgotten we are connected to each other.
I truly believe this..

I believe in the power of prayer , but it will take a united effort with all to have things turn around.

Road Show

I want to thank everyone for the success of the Road Show

Especially ANDREA FIFE A Big thanks for her and her amazing talent.

Road Show

Yea the Road Show is over but what a great time!!!!
Our Ward won " Best Musical ". It was so fun..
Everyone pulled together at the end ( always do )
And they had fun doing it.
The 12th Ward was fun also they had Old Mac Dillon had a farm and they used 80 people in the show. It was really cute.

I enjoy creating Musicals and creating fun.
You know how everyone always say it was the best time and the worst time.
Worst because you think you will never get to the other scenes and the best when it all comes together.
Thank you all for helping and especially Hollie and Glenn and Elton you are the best !!!!

Thank you

The Road Show

Road shows are so hair raising and fun too. Hair raising because of writing the script and filling the parts, making the music , hoping the cheorography will all come together. Hoping that no one quits the show and have to scramble to find someone again.
The Fun begins when you see it all come together. the parts. music, dancing, acting .Its like WOW...

I love creating, creating anything. But especially I love creating Scripts. To see comedy, depth, soul searching. Its all so fun..
I began my love for this when I was little and my cousins and I would make up plays all the time.
When my Kids were little we would make up plays and sing and have fun ..

Life is made up of moments, moments of fun, feelings, sharing, laughter, teaching, learning, growing, and crazy socks , but most of all Creating...

I have a poem I wrote.
Crazy Socks

When I am old I don't want to wear purple or red,
Odd crazy socks I rather wear instead.
Stripes, polkadots,socks with holiday decorations;
pompoms, lace and fun ones with toe deffinations.
There is nothing more wonderful and fun to see,
then odd socks and different socks which are totally me...

Enjoy Life!!

April

April is a great month , that transistion between Winter and Spring. Hoping for Spring.
It makes one throw out those winter clothes and bring the summer ones.
Unfortunatly its still a little too cold for shorts and summer tops.
We have planted many veggies , beets , peas, radishes. yummy. and a new cucumber that is called a lemon cucumber, it looks just round like a lemon only a little larger.

Jeremy found some new pumpkins one is a sugar pumpkin that will be great for pumpkin pie and a cinderella pumpkin that reminds you of the story.
Plus you need to have those pumpkins that are great for carving for Halloween.

This morning it was pouring rain and snow mix that sleet then change to snow grains its hard to think that just a week ago we saw new baby robins and hearing the birds chirp.
Mother Nature is just mixed up!

Well on to the next surprise of the season. Happy April and
Happy Easter.

The End of February

The End of February,

I look so forward to the end of February, that means Spring is just around the corner.
Come on Spring, I love to see green things growing and also its time to plant Peas,
Yes you can plant peas now. They love cold weather and about the time when they start to sprout it will be warmer.

I love gardning and planting new things. If I could have my wish it would be to plant tulip bulbs, crocuses , hyanthis ,lilies , roses lilacs. In the front Daisies, and those other water drought plants and in the back an eatable garden.
I hope our garden grows well this year, peas, heirloom tomatoes, pumpkins, heirloom cucumbers and lettus, heirloom beets ..yummy.. Hurrah for spring!!!!!!...

Crazy Days

I don't think in our history of this nation that things have been so awlful as they are now.
Until you read the Book of Mormon. People who lived long ago flurished and became prosporus and proud. Kind of what has happened in the last decade.

So what can we do to get through the tough times?

Back to the basics... remember Heavenly Father.
Being Grateful for what you have.
Enjoy life and help your neighbor.

I remember one time when I was little , my Grandmother came to our house to make soap.
The lye, fat and other ingredients that smelled so awlful.. I said Grandma" Why don't you just go to the store and buy a bar of soap"?." Oh" she said "Nothing is better than homemade soap" ( if it didn't get it clean then it would eat the stain out).
"But this is Hard" I complained. " Not as hard as what the Pioneers went through".
I remember so distinctly thinking I am glad I am not walking those plains in the winter and would work harder.

Grandma said" Learn to do things by yourself and it will help you through the hard times."

Grandma taught me to pray, to be grateful, to send things to the neighbors.
I have learned to sing, sew, crafts, paint, love genealogy, play the piano, cook , can, quilt, tend and teach children. I am learning to crochet an afghan , play the penny whistle and the violin.
I love to share cooking, ideas, laughter with family, friends and neighbors.

When we moved in our neighborhood, often between us young families we would trade eggs for butter, jam for sugar ( especially on Sundays , determined to keep the Sabbath Day and not go to the store) . These were good times. Why? because we were helping each other out.

I must confess ,that through my course on this earth , I have had my many moments of complaints. I try hard not too but it just sneaks up on me and then it takes something to jog me out of that rut.

Then I remember its not harder then crossing those plains in the winter in bare feet and no coat...

Thanks Grandma,

We are survivors...

beating the smog bog -looking forward to spring

I don't know about you , but I hate Smog!!!!!
It makes your lungs burn, your joints hurt and it is just plain yucky...

It is this time I tend to buy gardening books and look at new plants.
I love spring, I love the newness of green shoots popping up through the ground.
Hearing the birds chirp again and the smell of rain as it clears the air.
It seems to bring a brightness of hope, hope of what? being renewed and alive.

I love flowers, tulips, daffodils, crocus, lilacs, the smell of roses, daisy's ( they are so friendly looking ) black eyed susans, and the smell of herbs, rosemary, thyme, Peppermints ahhhhhhhhh so wonderful.

Wouldn't it be cool if somehow we could change the smell of the air everytime we stepped out of the house? For awhile it would be heavnly until the smells got mixed up... I guess we just have to go back to spraying our pillows or go to Bath and Body ....... Yeah Bath and Body lets go...
